Beautiful. I have done the country bit but it overwhelmed me so I am returning to the city and a balcony garden coupled with a mindset of enoughness speaks to my soul.
Great episode. I'm also a chickenless urbanite growing my food and doing my best to live a sustainable and fulfilled life. Your podcast was validating and encouraging and I really enjoyed your thoughts. Enoughness is a totally underrated concept so thank you for bringing it into the light.
Really beautiful. I have the land to do all the homesteading things and I honestly want to travel and not have all those things at home that need to be taken care of. Everyone is on their own path and that is what makes life unique and special.
I think you and I discussed the hilarity of the Farrow and Ball / constantly moving terracotta pots idyllic homestead when we talked?
And while I do have chickens, (and sheep!) they live on rented land two miles from my mid terrace new build which is about about 50s ft bigger than your flat!
I think what's incredibly important in your work is pointing out that we can be different. We can embrace the ethos without needing all the recommended accessories!
Oh I really needed to read this today. Thank you. Like you were, I have got caught up with the connection with slow living equals being in the country & rather than making me feel better, I've felt worse!
I shall take a reset on my slow living journey. Thanks again Amy

Slowing down, living simply and intentionally are my goals too xx
