Why Make Your Own Bread?
Shop-bought bread is convenient, but homemade bread has unbeatable flavour, no preservatives, and a perfect texture. Plus, making your own allows you to control the ingredients, ensuring a healthier and more wholesome loaf for your family.
Simple Breadmaker Bread Recipe
This recipe yields a classic, soft white bread with a golden crust. Perfect for sandwiches, toast, or just enjoying with butter and honey!
Ingredients:
1 cup (240ml) warm water
2 tbsp (30g) unsalted butter, melted
3 cups (360g) bread flour
2 tbsp (25g) sugar
1 ½ tsp (8g) salt
2 tsp (7g) active dry yeast
Instructions:
Add Ingredients in Order – Most breadmakers recommend adding wet ingredients first, followed by dry ingredients, with yeast added last.
Select the Right Setting – Use the basic or white bread setting on your breadmaker.
Choose the Crust Colour – If your breadmaker allows, select your preferred crust color (light, medium, or dark).
Press Start & Let It Work – Your breadmaker will mix, knead, rise, and bake the bread for you!
Cool Before Slicing – Once done, carefully remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Tips for the Best Breadmaker Bread
Use Bread Flour – It has a higher protein content than all-purpose flour, giving your bread a better structure and chew.
Check the Dough – After a few minutes of mixing, open the lid and check if the dough is forming a smooth ball. If it’s too dry, add a teaspoon of water; if too sticky, add a bit more flour.
Experiment with Add-ins – Try adding herbs, seeds, or cheese for a flavorful twist!
Enjoy Your Homemade Bread!
Once you experience how easy and delicious homemade bread can be, you’ll never want to go back to store-bought. Whether you enjoy it fresh out of the breadmaker, toasted with jam, or as a sandwich base, this simple recipe is a must-try for any home baker.
