Do you feel the pull to slow down and simplify?
& why slowing down doesn't mean doing everything at snails pace
Listen, I get it, slowing down and simplifying is a bit of a buzzword at the moment. We’ve been through our hustle era and now we’re all entering our slowing down era. And let me tell you I am here for it!
But what does it all really mean and how can we start to incorporate the elements of slow and simple living into our everyday lives?
I want you to think of today as day 1; a do-over.
Maybe you’ve bought into hustle culture before, that you need to be in this always-on state to function and you can’t fathom why it is that you now have this inability to relax. Listen, I think most of us have been there. First, forgive yourself and stop berating yourself for what you perceive to be an inability to relax. We are all the products of a world that pushes the hustle, the always-on mentality, that we have to be busy to be productive. Self-care, relaxation, and meditation come so far down society’s list of what we should be doing (if it even makes the list at all) that it’s no wonder so many of us truly struggle to relax and switch off.
Capitalism and all its pitfalls control our lives and the societies we live in, we’re part of this huge machine where our worth and productivity are measured by results and money. Who we are as people is secondary to what we can produce and how productive we can be.
Somewhere along the way we’ve got lost, and many of us are searching for a way back to our roots. Where work is something we do rather than something we are, where we can achieve the balance we are looking for, where we can slow down, simplify our lives and live a little more on our own terms.
I am so excited to share more with you and help you discover what you want life to look like for you and for your family. Slowing down isn’t for a certain type of person, it is something we can all make a priority in our lives. So whether you work a full time job, or don’t have a paid job at all, whether you’re a parent, a carer or cat mum, and whether you are already curious about the slow living movement or you just want to know more then I promise that you can find ways to allow slow and simple living into your life.
