If I’m being honest, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about turning 40. Years ago it seemed like a milestone - a big, bold number that might bring with it some sort of revelation or pressure. But as I sit here reflecting, I realise that 40 isn’t as much about where I’m at or what I’ve achieved, but rather what I’ve learned along the way.

Life doesn’t come with a guidebook or a map, and I’ve spent years navigating my own winding path, making mistakes, finding unexpected joy, and gathering lessons in places I never expected. Each of these lessons has shaped me, taught me something new, and led me to a place of deeper peace and understanding of who I am and how I want to show up in the world.

So today, as I celebrate 40 years of life, I wanted to share with you some of the lessons I’ve picked up along the way. These lessons have not only shaped how I live but how I approach the world. They’re reminders to slow down, show up authentically, and embrace every part of the journey, no matter how messy, unpredictable, or beautiful it may be.

This isn’t a list of achievements or successes, but instead it’s a collection of real, raw moments that have taught me more than any “perfect” outcome ever could. I hope that by sharing them, you might find a bit of inspiration, validation, or comfort on your own journey.

Here’s to 40 years of lessons, love, and living life with intention. I hope that they resonate with you too.
